Feeling Cozy
When I created this outfit I imagined what I would wear if I was celebrating the holidays in a home that is filled with the smell of firewood and cedar. The type of house that blankets you with an overwhelming feeling of warmth. The forest green sweater and skirt from W. Wake look divine together, but are versatile enough to be worn with other pieces. Pairing the outfit with a black and gold belt from Maje adds a bit of dimension to the look.
I added these boots for two reasons; 1. I adore the brand Aeyde and 2. The boots add a bit more warmth to the outfit. I felt this outfit needed a pop of red so I added the stunning earrings and velvet clutch. The velvet clutch is from Hunting Season and I cannot recommend this brand enough. Finally, I saw this candle and the enticing scent of dark roses was too good to not feature.
Feeling Glam
I will admit that I have been on the hunt for a great pair of velvet pants for quite some time. So when I spotted these velvet beauties from Lisou I was very excited. I love the slight flare at the bottom as it adds a bit of that 1970s vibe that I am very into right now. I spotted this white satin blouse from Ann Mashburn and knew it was the perfect addition to this outfit. The pussy bow again is a nod to the 70’s and yet feels very relevant today. The heels add a feminine touch that is quite nice.
Can we please talk about this gorgeous faux fur coat?? It looks incredibly luxe and I would wear it with my pajamas if given the chance. The same goes for the clutch from Olympia Le-Tan that speaks volumes. If I could carry this clutch with me everywhere I would. An outfit like this needs a bit of shine without going too over the top. These earrings from Completed Works add that shine with a classic, but with twist, design that works beautifully. The candle I chose is called the “Ellington” named after Duke Ellington. A jazz legend that amazed people with his cool vibe and unique style. This outfit to me aptly fits that description with its borrowed from the boys, but with a twist look.
Let’s Party
I have been looking at this dress from By Malene Birger ever since it landed at Shop McMullen. When I say staring at it I really mean letting my imagination run wild with all the places, and ways, I would wear this beauty. Adding a cape to this dress makes me want me to run through the streets twirling as the shine of the sequins bounces off the walls. This is an outfit needs to be scene thus I paired it with velvet slippers from Birdies. You’ll want to dance, spin and spend the evening socializing and you’ll need comfortable, yet classy, shoes to do that with.
I didn’t want to add a lot of jewelry to this look so I chose these simple, yet stunning, earring from Kinn Studio. My goal with jewelry is to find pieces that I can wear everyday, no matter the occasion, and these earrings fit that need. Another clutch that I want to carry everywhere is this one from Cult Gia. The pearl shine would go wonderfully with a sweater and denim for the day after partying the evening away. The candle is from La Botica NY and smells of warm cashmere and vanilla. Named after the SOHO area of New York where everyone, and everything, has an effortless chic air to them. And if I do say so myself this dress is chic AF.
