I am currently in Ketchum, Idaho for a bit of time and this place is full of inspiration for me. Maybe it is the clean and cold mountain in the mornings that make me feel like anything is possible. I just feel so relaxed here. Which is why I was inspired to put together an outfit that was truly, unabashedly me. I love a good denim on denim look. And these pieces make that look chic, yet effortless.
Friday Five: Denim on Denim
First off, this Loewe jacket is absolutely perfect. It has the French work jacket look to it with the signature Loewe leather insignia on the front. This is a jacket you could pair with jeans, or over a white linen dress in the evenings. The French work jacket is absolutely one of my favorite styles due to its versatility. I do not own any Loewe items but this jacket is first on my list of pieces I would invest in.
A camel shirt is the work horse of any wardrobe. This cashmere version from Co. could be worn year round which makes it the perfect pieces to purchase and rest assured you will get your moneys worth. Also, I love a cashmere t-shirt in the warmer months because cashmere is actually wonderfully breathable. Pairing this shirt with a denim on denim look feels minimalistic, yet elevated.
I have been on the hunt for the perfect wide leg denim for a few months and I believe this pair from Nili Lotan might be the answer. They are fitted in the waist and through the leg with a slight flare at the bottom. Very 70s chic. While I love the wide leg trend I do feel that it does not always work on someone who is shorter. I really like idea of pairing a retro style pant with a classic style jacket.
During the summer months I will leave my house for the whole day. Which means I need to throw everything I could possibly need into a bag and call it good. While I know straw baskets are the usual go-to for the warmer months, I personally prefer a leather bag that I can use year round. This leather tote from Sostter might be the most versatile style, and design, I’ve seen in awhile.
Finally, sunglasses are a critical component of every great outfit. I recently discovered the brand SWAV and I love the classic styles they produce. Particularly this wayfarer style with tortoise shell design. Again, the classic work jacket paired with the retro style jeans needs a classic sunglass.
