The key to a good nights sleep: Advice from a semi-reformed insomniac

I am the last person who should be writing about how to get a good nights sleep. I have always been a terrible sleeper and suffer from insomnia at least once a week. Just other the other night I woke up at 1:30 am did not go back to bed. Impressively and sadly I’ve learned to operate during the day as a sleep deprived zombie. I have tried everything to get a great nights sleep over the years so I would consider myself a bit of an expert of what actually works for sleep. Here are the items that work when all else fails.

Pour Les Femmes cotton sateen pajamas

The Key Pieces To A Great Nights Sleep

Boll & Branch Percale Sheets

High Quality Bedding: I am a warm sleeper and over the years I have tried out all the sheets that claim to have “cooling” properties. These Boll & Branch percale sheets are the only ones I have found that actually work. I’ve had them for three months and not once have I woken up overheated.

Pour Les Femmes Cotton Sateen PJs

Proper Pajamas: I have found wearing proper pjs helps my brain switch to bedtime mode. These Pour Les Femmes cotton sateen pajamas are perfect because the cotton is breathable, and the sateen provide a silky aspect to the set which further cools down my body. Between these pajamas and the Boll & Branch sheets I no longer feel overheated at night.

Asceno Silk Eye Mask

Silk Eye Mask: I used to think these were a ludicrous purchase. This past winter I decided to give the silk eye mask a try because I am really sensitive to light when I sleep. I loved it right away and I am kicking myself for not purchasing one earlier. The Asceno silk eye mask is the best one and feels wonderful on while you sleep.

Amber Lewis Moorea Roller Ball

Calming fragrance: I have tried all the lavender pillow sprays that have ever been made. Unfortunately, those just do not work on me. Finally though I have found a fragrance that calms me down. The Amber Lewis Moorea essential oils roller ball immediately quiets my brain when I put it on my wrists and temples. I cannot help but take a big deep breath when I put it on prompting true relaxation.

Sheila Bridges Harlem toile throw pillow

Something that brings joy: This is an idea I came up with recently because I felt that having something in my room that brought me joy would relax me down during those sleepless nights . For me, this Sheila Bridges Harlem Toile pillow makes me very happy. The design and calming color are a perfect addition to my bedroom.
